Every scholar at LAB and their parent/guardian must read, sign, and return the signed tech use policy, in the Scholar Handbook, in order to be able to use their Chromebooks and Macbooks at Brooklyn LAB!
See below for additional information and resources.
Your scholar is beginning to use a Google Chromebook in his or her classrooms – from writing personal narratives to using a variety of math courseware. At Brooklyn LAB, once a scholar and his or her family sign off on the tech use policy, the scholar is given access to a Chromebook to use in school and their own Brooklyn LAB email address. Scholars will be able to login into their account from any computer with internet at home to complete work, log books into their reading log, view their schedule, or share necessary documents.
While scholars are able to use their Google Chromebooks daily depending on lesson content, scholars are not permitted to take Chromebooks home.
As part of our commitment to digital literacy, LAB is offering a special purchasing program (see Chromebook Order Form), for scholars who don’t currently have a computer at home or wish to purchase a Chromebook for use at home.
